More Music Updates October 2020

Updated: Oct 16, 2020

1. Fun Palace 2020

Last weekend, More Music welcomed people back into their building safely with their annual Fun Palace. Although it may have looked slightly different this year, visitors enjoyed 8-bit animation workshops, making music from veg in the Veggie Synth workshops and also a singing walk on the Prom. It was a full day of community collaboration and even the rain couldn't dampen the spirits of the participants.

2. Sessions are back

After holding their regular music sessions online since March, More Music welcomed participants back into their building here in Morecambe last week to safely reconvene many of their music sessions again in person.

Their sessions have new precautions to ensure you can enjoy them comfortably and in confidence. With some indoors and some outdoors, you can visit www.moremusic.org.uk/news/music-workshops-recommence/ to find out more.

3. Gardening in the West End

Last Friday, the More Music team took to the streets once more for a spot of gardening and weeding, keeping the West End tidy. If any of our neighbours, or West End residents would like to join in the fun , the team will be meeting on the first Friday of each month between 10.00am and 12pm outside More Music.

4. Leo & Hyde callout for participants

Alongside Lancaster Culture Co-op, More Music are supporting Leo & Hyde's Double Life project. They're looking for LGBTQIA+ young people from Lancashire to be part of a digital choir and music video for the song ‘Double Life’ alongside performers from the West End and TV, and to take part in free digital workshops in performance and dance with the UK tour cast of GUY: A New Musical. No experience or previous ability required. All can be done safely from the comfort of your home.
